The Man at the Grocery Store

I sensed something about the man. I couldn’t tell what it was. I didn’t want to say anything, I didn’t know what he was going through. I took a step back. I decided to wait for him to say something. He did and then I found out he worked from 7 AM to 3 PM then again from 4PM to 12 AM. You have no idea what someone goes through; you don’t know their pain and how much they hurt. All you can do is be kind and remember that if you’re hurting, chances are someone else is too. You don’t know how much someone has to work and what goes through their day and their life. I asked him about his day and he said, ‘even if something goes bad, I have to remind myself it is one moment in the day and the day is so much bigger. There is so much more life out there. Life is like a river; one ripple, one bump doesn’t make it bad, it keeps flowing.

Whatever you are going through, keep flowing, keep going.
